Prayer Ministry

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”  Colossians 4:2

“Do not be anxious about anything but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Philippians 4:6-7

Calabash Covenant Presbyterian Church is committed to praying for the needs of our congregation, our community, our nation, our world, and for the church universal.  We believe prayer is a source of wisdom, strength, comfort, and healing that brings us closer to God.

Prayer is the means by which we have a relationship with God in Jesus Christ.  It is our way of seeking and learning God’s will.  If we don’t pray, we cut ourselves off from this channel of grace.  When we pray, we align ourselves with what God wants of us and seek to cooperate with God’s purposes.

How may I serve in the prayer ministry?

Several areas are available for anyone who would like to serve in this ministry:

  • become a prayer partner for one of CCPC’s church programs or a specific ministry team (missionaries, outreach programs, community ministry partners, the pastor, Sunday worship services, healing in America, upcoming special events or activities, …….)
  • join one of the current corporate monthly prayer groups in the prayer room for specific prayer requests
  • contribute your own prayer stories for Shore Lines-tell others how God is answering your prayers

If you are interested in being a part of the Prayer Ministry or would like more information, please call Gloria Wimmer at 910-209-1003 or email prayer@calabash.church.
