The Celebration Choir provides musical worship for the 8 a.m. Service. Their music provides a mixture of both traditional and contemporary worship songs. The choir is directed by Peg Stinnett and is accompanied by Peg on the piano, Pat Robison on drums, Charlie Toutant on bass, and Tom Thomas on guitar and keyboard. This group practices on Thursday evenings and always welcomes new members.
The CCPC Handbell Choir rings for several 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. worship services, and for special services throughout the year. Our choir, under the direction of Ruth Daniel, consists of 11 ringers and several substitute ringers. We have three octaves of Malmark handbells and three octaves of Suuki handchimes. Our repertoire includes gospel and spirituals, traditional and contemporary, hymns and classical music. We currently have openings for substitutes who ring when regular ringers are absent. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m.
The Chancel Choir leads the congregation in music at the 10:00 a.m. Service. Organized in 1990 by Judy McCann, our choir is now conducted by Ralph Butler, with Ruth Daniel as accompanist/director. We sing four part harmony selections from various musical genres, including traditional, contemporary, classical, gospel and spirituals. We join with the Celebration Choir for special events such as Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday and concerts. Prospective members and visitors are always welcome to join us. We rehearse at 3:00 p.m. On Thursdays in the choir room.
