PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Matthew 22:35-40)
35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Food Packing Opportunity
This is a new opportunity for our church to participate in food procurement and distribution to needy families in Brunswick County. This program will help Brunswick Family Assistance to add food to their pantry and provide food for school-aged children who are at home for the Summer. We are being asked to form a team of 15 people that will collect food on the fourth Saturdays of the Summer months (June 28, July 26, August 23). We would begin at 7:30 AM and conclude before noon. If you can only help a couple of times, we could use your help.
Please respond with your desire to participate. Thanks for considering

PRAYER FAMILY OF THE WEEK- NANCY MATZAK
I am a transplant from the north, moving to Carolina Shores 11 years ago. I spent my
childhood in CT and spent 45 years in Dutchess County, NY where I taught
Kindergarten for 35 years. A few years into retirement after the death of my husband,
Bob, I ventured out on vacation which brought me to the Carolina Shores area to visit a
long-time friend. I fell in love with the area and bought a house which shocked my son
and brothers. I jumped in with both feet, sold my house in Poughkeepsie, and moved
hundreds of miles away to a new life here in Carolina Shores, NC.
Bob and I spent 15 years volunteering with the US Forest Service in the Shenandoah Valley at the Massanutten Visitor Center, creating web sites and creating a searchable database. After his death, I volunteered with NOMADS, a camping group of Christians who arrive at Methodist agencies helping with maintenance tasks. Most recently I have been involved with Emergency Response assisting others affected by hurricanes, tornadoes and disasters. I found my calling with these volunteer experiences as I bounced around the US always finding a way to give back and definitely doing God’s work! My traveling days are slowing down which leaves me time to spend with friends and family.
Speaking of family, I have a granddaughter who lives in Florida, a grandson who lives in
Fort Wayne, IN, 2 great grandsons in Florida and my son-in-law who lives in TN, and a
daughter-in-law who lives in Fort Wayne, IN. My church life has been a mix of
denominations from Congregational as a child which I thought was too “loosey-goosey”
for my needs. Next, I landed in a Methodist church in NY and here in NC. Most
recently, I transferred to Calabash Covenant Presbyterian Church where I have found
my “forever” church. In my spare time, I am a quilter and sing in the church choir and
North Myrtle Beach All City Choir. It has been a crazy life full of travel, family, friends,
and God who isn’t done with me yet! What a ride it has been so far.
Please pray for Nancy by sending her a card, email or calling her on the phone.
