*CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader:     For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures.

People:    That he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.

Leader:     Because of Christ’s death and resurrection, let us magnify the Lord through the Holy Spirit.

All:            Let us exalt God’s name together.

*HYMN #90 (vv. 1, 2 & 4)                “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee”

 PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Our Father, forgive us for thinking small thoughts of you and for ignoring your immensity and greatness. Lord Jesus, forgive us when we forget that you rule the nations and our humble lives. Holy Spirit, we offend you in diminishing your power and squandering your gifts. We confess that we are slow to see your glory, O triune God. Have mercy upon us, in Jesus’ name.  Give us the right vision of you, your holiness, your love, and your blessed creation. Amen.

SILENT PRAYERS

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Hear the Good News! “But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,” (Titus 3:4-6). Know that by grace through faith, you are forgiven in Jesus Christ.

HURRICANE RELIEF!

The Church has sent $2500 to World Renew for hurricane relief in western North Carolina. The session has approved a special offering for the purpose of additional hurricane relief. This offering will be received during the entire month of November.  Please make checks payable to CCPC and designate hurricane relief.

Today is Food Pantry Collection Sunday. Every third Sunday of the Month, we receive special offerings for the Local Food Pantries.

CCPC T-SHIRTS

Many of you noticed and liked the T-shirts that our Brazilian brothers and sisters wore on their last Sunday here.  We are happy to let you know they are available for purchase.

A sample shirt and the sign-up sheet are in the church office.  Sizes available are adult Small through 3X.  The material is soft, and cost is $20.00. We will place an order in mid-November.

NURSERY NEWS. All children are welcome in our worship services.  We offer a staffed nursery during the 9:30am Worship Service and during Sunday School.  Our nursery serves infants though age 6.

This Thursday’s prayer gathering (the week prior to Thanksgiving day), will include an unscripted prayer walk as we together; prayerfully touch every room, nook and cranny of the church; thanking our LORD for all the people (past, present and future) whose lives have and will be touched by God’s power and grace; having visited, worked, served, worshiped, or fellowshipped in that area.  Plan to join this very special prayer walk.  We will meet in the prayer room, Thursday the 21st at 10:30am.  Questions?  Contact Joani Hertzog, 910-579-5555.

If you would like private prayer today, we will be in the prayer room after the service.

Worship services are available for our viewing @ calabash.church

OPERATION CHISTMAS CHILD

Please return the filled boxes TODAY, Sunday, November 17, if you have not done so already. Shoeboxes will be delivered to the collection center in Shallotte on November 18th. CCPC filled 84 shoeboxes last year and we have a goal of 100 boxes this year.  Please help share the message of Jesus Christ to children around the globe.

PRAYER PERSON OF THE WEEK – JOYCE BAUGHMAN

I am a retired special education teacher, living in The Village at Calabash with my dog Abi. I have one son, Jon, who lives in Pittsboro NC (no grandchildren yet!). I moved to the beach 9 years ago, and after a few years of attending another church, was introduced to “beach church” by a neighbor. I fell in love with it! I am shy and do not easily meet new people, but being at the beach was a casual and easy way to get acquainted. I attended beach church for two years before I was brave enough to enter the sanctuary! This wonderful church family has been very welcoming and friendly from the start. I appreciate all the support, encouragement, and opportunities to serve and worship God with all of you. I have enjoyed being involved in Dorcas Circle, Bible study, small groups, and Navigators. I look forward to more opportunities to get involved in the life of this church. When I am not here, I am probably walking my dog or knitting/crocheting items to donate to local charities. Thank you all for your prayers!

Please pray for Joyce and Abi by sending her a card, email or calling her: 845 Bogie Ln Carolina Shores, NC 28467-2237; jonbsmom@gmail.com ; (919) 548-7323
